Valentines Day 2019: Stats You Should Know

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and it is nice to read a report from the weekend that overall divorce rates in Britain are at their lowest in a generation since laws changed in 1969.

It was reported that the number of women petitioning for divorce has dropped significantly since 1993 and experts are saying it is down to a change in men’s behaviour.

This report comes at a time when there is a movement for the divorce laws to be changed to remove the requirement for one party to be a fault.

Marriage is a big commitment and it is often easier to start a marriage than it is to end one. At a time when more and more couples are choosing to not get married, it is positive that those that do marry are staying together longer.

It is important that if the decision is made to end the marriage is made that legal advice is sought early on to try and resolve matters as quickly and as amicably as possible.
