Twelve Months on from Covid-19

This week as part of the UK Government’s “roadmap” out of the third national lockdown we are seeing the country’s school children return to their classrooms. For many parents this will come as a big relief that they no longer have to home school their children. For others it may be a time of uncertainty and nervousness as whilst the number of cases of Covid-19 have decreased significantly since the start of the year, it will still be a number of weeks and months before the entire adult population has been vaccinated.

At Greens Solicitors we have continued to adopt a robust response to Covid-19, and it is a response that has evolved over the past 12 months. Our fee earning staff are separated into distinct “bubbles” who alternate working from home with coming into the office; we are very concerned at the mental wellbeing of our employees and recognise the benefits of face to face interaction. However this cannot be at the expense of the safety of our staff so for that reason we have strict social distancing measures in place within the office itself.

Staff and visitors are temperature checked on their arrival to the office each day, and there are regular hand sanitising points within the office itself. We all are to wear a mask or face covering when leaving our desks unless exempt, but an added safety measure was put in place recently when we purchased a supply of lateral flow tests for all staff members coming into the office to use. We take two tests each week at home and in the event any of those tests come back positive then the member of staff is to arrange for a PCR test and self isolate.

All of these measures form part of our response to the pandemic, and as more of the team get vaccinated we can start to look to the rest of 2021 with greater positivity.
