Georgina Burrows

Senior Associate Solicitor, Birmingham

I was described in Legal 50 as ‘excellent’…. and always ‘thoroughly well prepared’, as well
as a ’rock’ and ‘champion’ for my clients.
I am thrilled to be working with the talented and committed team at Greens, choosing to
return to the firm after working elsewhere for 6 years. The firm has expanded its offering
since I was last here and is able to offer a complete range of family law services to clients
from all walks of life.
When not at work I enjoy spending time with family and friends, my menagerie of rescued
pets and I have recently taken up pottery.

How do I get the best from my lawyer?

Be honest and provide any information or documents requested as quickly and in as ordered a fashion as possible. Trust that as your lawyer I am on your side and will never ask you for unnecessary information and am not able to present your best case if you have not been open with me.

How much will it cost?

Each case is different. Solicitors charge an hourly rate plus VAT. You will be charged for all
time spent on your matter including emails, and telephone calls. You will be provided with
regular costs updates which will be updated as a minimum every 6 months but usually at
each stage your case progresses through the Court or negotiation process. At the outset of
your matter, we will discuss the funding options available and will give you a guide to likely
costs.

What should I expect?

You will receive clear and realistic advice from me. The team and I will be committed to
achieving the best outcome for you.

How long will it take?

It very much depends on what the issues are in your case and whether it is being dealt with
through the Court process or not. When you instruct the firm, we will be able to give you a
guide as to how long your case is likely to take.

Will you keep me informed on progress made and if so how?

You will be kept informed throughout your matter by telephone, email or in person. We will
agree at the outset your preferred method of communication.

Can you guarantee I will be successful in my case?

There are no guarantees in family law. Inevitably to reach an agreement or to avoid a
contested and costly final hearing both parties will need to compromise. If you achieve an

outcome which ensures your continued relationship with your children and a fair financial
settlement, then that is success. With early advice and our team on your side we will ensure
that the outcome is fair.

What do you like most about working at Greens?

The people. We have a fantastic team of lawyers and support staff. The firm is committed to
achieving the best outcome for all clients whether they are privately paying or legally aided.

Why should I bring my case to you?

I am an experienced family lawyer who is well respected by other lawyers and former clients
alike. I have a wealth of experience and there will be little I have not come across before.
With me you will have a solicitor who ‘gets it’.
