Learning a New Language During Lockdown

During lockdown I attempted to learn a new language: Mandarin. I chose this language as it is not based on any language that I am already familiar with and I love a new challenge.

So far in this language journey, I have learnt to read certain sentences, such a “I like coffee” although, I cannot speak it albeit for the odd phrase like “I love you”, which isn’t going to help very much in daily life.

I have now a zest for this language and am going to enroll onto a college course into September to really get my skills up to scratch as I would like to visit China next year.
