Increase in Court Applications Involving Children

New figures that have been released show that CAFCASS received 4080 new private law cases (Private law cases are family matters which do not involve a public organisation) in October 2018. This is a 6.7% increase compared to 2017.

This increase in demand means increased waiting time for hearings and longer timescales for reports.

It is important that before you issue court proceedings you look at all the options available to you. This can include mediation and negotiations with solicitors.
