Gemma's New Dog

I have recently welcomed to the family a new puppy. She is a Shitzu Poodle mix called Poppy and I enjoy any excuse to share a picture of her.

However, being a family solicitor welcoming a new dog into the family made me think about what happens to our four-legged friends during the breakdown of a relationship. All animals become part of the family and it may be surprising that pets are treated the same way as other personal belongings such as, furniture and pots and pans, this is despite them being much more important.
