Commonwealth Games and It’s a Penalty Campaign

I was very excited to be invited by No5 Chambers to attend the Birmingham Law Society Race to the Commonwealth and Beyond Dinner and the lovely Great Hall at the University of Birmingham.

This was a lovely dinner and we heard from the Vice President of the Birmingham Law Society, Tony McDaid, Olympian Mark Foster and also a representative from the charity for the event, It’s A Penalty, who use global sporting events such as the Commonwealth Games, to raise awareness about, and try and prevent, abuse, exploitation and human trafficking. It was very interesting to see how they are using high profile events to raise awareness about human trafficking, which has been highlighted recently by the statement issued by Sir Mo Farah and his childhood experience.

Greens Solicitors is delighted to be in the heart of Birmingham City Centre and welcome the Commonwealth Games to its City. If you need help regarding abuse or exploitation, please telephone us on 0121 233 2042.
