English Wine Week 2025

ENGLISH WINE WEEK

English Wine Week 2025 will run from Saturday 21st June to Sunday 29th June.  This event is now in its 19th year and this national celebration invites you to create new traditions.

What makes our wines so special?

  • Cool-climate clarity: English wines stand out for their crisp acidity and nuanced flavours, often with lower alcohol, with long, cool growing seasons.
  • About 76% of English wines are sparkling, using classic Champagne grapes like Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.
  • In 2023, 1.5 million visits were make to UK vineyards, this was a 55% rise from the previous year!

Why English Wine Week Matters

English Wine Week helps our blossoming homegrown industry that is now recognised around the world as we compete on the global stage and win international awards.

How can you get involved?

  • Visit a local vineyard, many offer guided tours and wine tasting sessions.
  • Buy English wines, supporting your local producers by buying on line or in your local shop.
  • Host a wine tasting pairing wines with food is a great way to entertain friends.

Or you could visit the following events:

  • Surrey Hills Summer Spectacular held on 28 & 29 June – this involves 5 local vineyards uniting for wine fest fun!
  • Mallow, Canary Wharf, London held on 25 June – they are holding a plant based, four course wine dinner featuring Artelium & Roebuck Estates.
  • Boys Hall, Kent held on 24 June – they are holding a five course al fresco feast from 17th century kitchen, hosted by wine lover Brad Lomas

Or the larger Estates, such as Denbies Wine Estate in Surrey or Chapel Down in Kent, offer wine tastings and extensive tours.

As it is my Birthday week running at the same time, I will ensure that I sample as many of the English wines I can find!  Lets all raise a glass or two to English Wine Week!
