The Paris 2024 Olympics will mark a centennial milestone since the city last hosted the Games in 1924. This historical significance adds a layer of nostalgia and pride for Parisians and sports enthusiasts worldwide.  It will also be the third time Paris have hosted the games.

Paris 2024 is set to be the greenest Olympics ever. The organizing committee has put forth an ambitious sustainability plan, aiming for a carbon-neutral event. The key initiatives include:

  • Renewable Energy: Utilizing 100% renewable energy to power the Games.
  • Eco-friendly Transport: Encouraging the use of public transport, bicycles, and electric vehicles.
  • Waste Reduction: Implementing comprehensive waste management systems to minimise waste and promote recycling.

The Olympic Village, designed to house athletes during the Games, will be transformed into eco-friendly housing post-Olympics, benefiting the local community and providing a lasting legacy of sustainable living.

The Paris 2024 Olympics will introduce exciting new sports and welcome back some fan favourites. Breakdancing is making its Olympic debut, it promises to captivate audiences with its dynamic and expressive performances. Meanwhile, surfing, skateboarding, and sport climbing, which made their debut in Tokyo 2020, will return, appealing to a younger, more diverse audience.

Traditional sports like athletics, swimming, and gymnastics will still continue to be the main attractions, showcasing the world’s best athletes and their extraordinary talents.

Also, for the first time ever, a nursery, for competing parents, will be available in the Olympic village, partnered with Pampers, which was launched by the most decorated Olympian track star Allyson Felix, now retired.

Paris Olympics 2024 promises to be a spectacular event, combining the elegance and history of Paris with the excitement of world-class sports.  Set your clocks, mark your diary for the opening ceremony, Friday 26th July at 7.30 pm Paris time, 6.30 pm UK time.
