We Help Protect Victims of Domestic Violence

The latest government figures have shown that half of the children assessed as needing social
services are either a direct target of domestic abuse or witnessing this in their home.

This can lead to the children being taken away from their parents in which one of the parents is a
victim and could lead to in some circumstances, the victim could be charged with failing to protect
their children.

There is an argument that social services should be providing support to the victims of domestic
violence as opposed to placing the blame on the parent who is the victim and often seeking to
remove the child/children from that parent’s care.

Our specialist team can offer advice around domestic abuse to help these victims in cases where an
injunction is needed and where social services are involved.
