Julian is a dedicated and highly experienced mediator and family mediation specialist, who is qualified to work with clients who are funded by the Legal Aid agency.
Equally at home dealing with finances or legal matters regarding children, he is also trained in civil and commercial mediation, workplace mediation, special education needs/disability matters and community mediation, and currently practices across the full spectrum of these areas.
Julian was accredited as a civil and commercial mediator in 2007; as a family, community and workplace mediator in 2010 and as a SEND mediator in 2015. To date, Julian has conducted over 300 mediations of various types. The vast majority of these mediations have resulted in his clients receiving a settlement or partial settlement.
Trained in law and psychology, with a degree in communications, Julian has worked in many different areas, both public and private, giving him a ready understanding of the different kinds of situations people find themselves facing. His extensive experience in helping parties to resolve emotive and contentious issues makes him particularly well suited to mediate disputes where there is a significant human element.
With a sharp, commercially analytical mind, Julian is a first class communicator, linguist and problem solver. He brings a broad life experience, humour and insight, along with psychological and legal awareness to help parties focus on and find workable solutions.
He can adapt the mediation process to best suit the issues at hand and can always offer a truly bespoke service to his clients. Julian is a perceptive and empathetic people person who is always firmly focused on the client.
Out of the office, Julian is always up for an adventure. His most recent was when he drove a Ford Transit from London to Banjul in The Gambia, where he then sold it and donated the money to charity.
